B.PHL Innovation Festival
Project Manager, REC Philly
(2021-2023)

Founded in 2019 by Independence Blue Cross, B. PHL Innovation Festival brings international talent together with Philadelphia’s creative and business leaders to highlight innovation and to spotlight Philadelphia as a fantastic place to live, work, and play.

In 2021 and 2022, REC Philly was contracted to program and produce B.PHL Festival in collaboration with Witty Gritty. As a project manager, I was responsible for developing the topics and direction for the festivals programming, based on a strategy that targeted the core creative displines of our target audience. Highlights include attendence by over 400 people and keynotes featuring Grammy-Award Winning Producer Timbaland, Shannon Maldonado (Founder & Art Director of boutique store and hotel YOWIE), and Maori Karmael Holmes (Chief Executive and Artistic Officer of BlackStar Projects).

  • Managed a $100k talent booking budget to develop six programming sessions, three interactive workshops, and two performances featuring talent across the music, film, hospitality, and design industries.
  • Wrote marketing copy and collaborated with a design agency to develop promotional materials for all programs
  • Hired and directed a freelance media team to shoot candid photography, short-form video content, and attendee testimonials capturing the energy of the festival.
